Villa Traful - Lakes and mountains

Villa Traful is located 24 miles (39 km) from Confluencia and 38 miles (61 km) from Villa La Angostura, along the amazing Seven Lakes' Road. Every corner of the town offers something to watch and enjoy, which makes this mountain village a tour in itself. Lake Traful is one of the most popular places among fishermen since it's one of the sites in the world where salmon is most abundant. For mountaineers, the ideal spot is Falkner Mountain. Among the main attractions of Villa Traful, you'll find Lake Blanco's Cascade, the ponds called Las Mellizas (The Twins), Vigilante Mountain and Cataratas Stream's Cascades, all of which boast outstanding beauty. If you sail along the lake towards the north, you'll be making an unforgettable excursion known as Bosque Sumergido (Submerged Forest). After leaving the pier and making a majestic voyage, just like in a fantasy tale, you'll see a cypress forest, most of which remains almost intact, emerging from the transparent water. The tops of some of these trees are at surface level. Those who dare can dive up to 100 feet (30 m) and go through the forest as if they were immersed in a dream. This experience will go beyond words. Scuba diving lovers also have other places for practice, such as Gruta de la Virgen Overlook, Brazo Norte (North Branch) and Piedra Mala. With a population under 500, Villa Traful is one of those corners of the planet where nature is still pure and fills the hearts of its visitors with joy.
